Meet the 2023-2024 Executive Board

PRESIDENT

Ojas has been a part of Engineering Council’s Executive Board since his freshman year. For his senior year as President, he is eager to strive for student advocacy at every level alongside a capable and adrenaline-filled Executive Board.

In his free time, he enjoys watching Formula 1, spending time at cafes, and baking focaccia.

VICE PRESIDENT EXTERNAL

Ariya has been a member of EC since her freshman year (starting as EFC Outreach Chair). But for her senior year as VPE, she is excited to meet the incoming EC members and societies, helping to bring everything together.

In her free time, Ariya is committed to watching every new Marvel movie in theaters (or else it doesn’t count).

VICE PRESIDENT INTERNAL

Hayden has been a member of EC since her freshman year. This year, he’s motivated to build up the EC community and help EC’s committees to provide events that are exciting and impactful for all Grainger students.

Did you know… Hayden used to compete nationally in archery!

TREASURER

Carlie has been a part of EC since her freshman year. For her year as Treasurer, she is excited to meet and work with new people across the Grainger College of Engineering.

Did you know… Carlie used to be a competitive figure skater in high school!

CORPORATE DIRECTOR

Matt has been a member of EC since his sophomore year. For his senior year, he’s excited to spend time with his committee and have fun for his final year on campus!

In his free time, Matt is a practice player for the Illinois Women’s basketball team.

EOB CO-DIRECTOR

For his junior year as EC’s Engineering Outreach Bureau Director, Liam is really excited to meet new people, learn from others, and take part in fun events.

In his free time, Liam loves watching movies and has seen over one thousand to date!

EOB CO-DIRECTOR

For her junior year on campus, Elizabeth is super excited to hold a lot of awesome outreach events and get to know many more EC members!

In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys listening to music and has over 150 playlists.

DSAC DIRECTOR

This year as the Dean’s Student Advisory Committee Director, Shalini is excited to work with a great council/committee and host fun events for both Grainger students and faculty.

Fun fact about Shalini, she has visited over 20 different countries!

EOH CO-DIRECTOR

For her senior year on campus, Rohini is excited to make an impact with EOH! She’s looking forward to getting to know everyone in EC and working with them throughout the school year, as well as attending all of the awesome events that EC does.

Did you know… Rohini has moved 11 times!

EOH CO-DIRECTOR

Paymon is an EOH veteran and is excited to return to the committee as a Co-Director for his senior year. In addition to EOH, Paymon is looking forward to lots of fun events!

In his free time, Paymon plays the saxophone!

EXPO CO-DIRECTOR

This year as an EXPO Co-Director, Aditi is very excited to explore the other branches of EC as well, particularly the community services initiatives!

In her free time, she loves playing all types of racket sports!

EXPO CO-DIRECTOR

Jacob has been a member of EC since his freshman year (as EFC’s Service Chair). This year, he’s excited to meet new/old EC members and help bridge the gap between students and professional opportunities!

In his free time he likes rock climbing, playing tennis, and watching anime!

E-WEEK DIRECTOR

Sofia has been a member of EC since her freshman year. This year, she is excited to bond with the Executive Board and general members!

In her free time, Sofia enjoys taking photos, playing tennis, and hammocking!

D&I DIRECTOR

Elliot has been a member of EC since his freshman year (starting as the EFC Vice President)! This year, he is excited to connect with new and old members of EC, helping to build an amazing community of engineers.

In his free time, Elliot loves to scuba dive and has dove in many parts of the world!

PRODEV DIRECTOR

Yzzi has been a member of EC since her freshman year (as EFC’s ProDev Chair)! For her sophomore year, Yzzi is so excited to make meaningful connections within the College of Engineering and attending a diverse number of events that EC has to offer.

Did you know… Yzzi lived in Japan for a couple of years when she was younger!

SOCIAL DIRECTOR

Ian has been a member of EC since his freshman year. For his sophomore year, Ian is pumped to get to know his fellow leadership and put on some great social events for everyone in Grainger!

In his free time, Ian likes to dabble in playing the harmonica.

SERVICE DIRECTOR

For her junior year at Illinois as EC’s Service Chair, Emily is excited to meet new EC members and looking forward to all the different events EC’s committees will be hosting.

Did you know… Emily has been stung by a jellyfish before? Ouch!

PUBLICITY DIRECTOR

Samantha has been a member of EC since her freshman year. This year, she is excited to connecting with a lot of new people, as well as exercising her creativity with EC’s publicity/marketing.

Did you know… Samantha is the only left-handed person in her family!

AWARDS DIRECTOR

Hassan has been a member of EC since his freshman year (as EFC President)! For his sophomore year, Hassan is really excited about this year’s diverse Executive Board and can’t wait to see the progress each committee will make throughout the semesters!

Did you know… Hassan had a free throw shooting contest with Shaq when he was eight years old!

EFC PRESIDENT

Adithi has joined Engineering Council as the EFC President with the hope of meeting new people and helping to create a unique first-year experience for Grainger Freshman!

Did you know… Adithi has road-tripped to almost 40 states!
